I just came across your blog from the blog 'OrangeSink', and I loved reading the profile! I am new to wool collecting and the hope for rug hooking and rug dyeing, and I would love to be included in your giveaway. And yes, I did brave the crowds for early morning Black Friday - it was an adventure!
Take care, Nancy

I usually shop on Cyber Monday but this year we have scaled back and remember the true meaning of the holiday. Does it mean we aren't giving or receiving gifts..heck no. Just means we aren't going to be crazy about it. Kids are older and no grandkids yet so it's kind of easy. But...I love love love wool

I'm a stay at home girl on Black Friday! I will usually volenteer to work and let the others go for it! This time I worked on Thanksgiving and celebrated with family on Friday...working on art project for college art class....taking the wool and the rugs....:)

I used to get my wool on dollar days, but they stopped doing it. No shopping for me, besides the crowds, I have been sick, so stuck at home.

My favorite place for ideas and contests is craftgossip.com

We Canadians visited family over Tgiving in NC. I hate Black Friday so I volunteered to babysit nephews and nieces. Much better! Since moving to Canada we have really slowed down our buying craziness. I enjoy giving away hooked ornaments and baking. This Friday our 'hood is caroling followed by cookies and cocoa at my pad. Can't wait!

I couldn't wait to see if I won - I just had to order some more wool from Betsy.

I did not shop on Black Friday. I have always wanted to try to get the deals, but I just don't want to deal with the crowds or how some can be rude. Instead, I spent the day dyeing some wool/hooking and working on some penny rug mug mats. I'd love to be entered into the lucious wool giveaway. The 6th is my birthday, so to win would be an awesome present.

I have two traditions that I do every Christmas. When my girls were young I started giving them Lifesaver Candy Books. They are now grown and have husbands and children of their own so now all get Lifesaver Books under the tree!! The other thing I do is make Christmas pillow cases for my 4 grandchildren. This year I am adding a 5th as my oldest granddaughter has found her "true love" so he will be included on the pillow case list.

I am new to wool - today I bought my first 2 pieces of wool. I am taking a class in Jaunary - I can't wait to start.

Only a few short weeks left before the end of the semester, and back to hooking time. Some extra wool would really come in handy., ;) Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. I am not brave enough for black friday shopping.

Constance said...

I now am working only with wool. I love the feel of it between my fingers. And it is so rich and soft. I do almost all my Christmas shopping online and have had no problems. Utah is too cold and snowy now until about April to go out!!

OLD CROW FARM said...

No Black Friday shopping for this ole gal...I'm to old to fight the crowds! Instead, I stayed home and hooked. A much better way to spend my day. Sher

I have a home-based business selling antiques on Ebay - my appreciation for antiques and old things is a nice fit to creating hooked rugs that look antique.

I LOVE WOOL!! I worked on Black Friday (and it was a great day woohoo!!) I am going to go visit your "favorite" blog and check it out....I also have sooooo many blogs I enjoy - I could spend all day just peeking!! Fingers crossed !!!

Unknown said...

I did not go out on Black Friday, except to go to dinner at the end of the day. I do most of my Christmas shopping online as most needs to be shipped - and it is just easier to do it that way. I hope that I win the wool!

Kelly said...

You couldn't pay me enough to go out on Black Friday! I relaxed with visiting family and ate leftovers! I'm checking out your favorite blog too.

Reen said...

I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to hooking, but I just love it... now if I could only find more time to do it!

No Black Friday for me, actually did do some hooking but I sure would love to do more with your lovely wools!

I take care of my 1 year old granddaughter 3 days a week. I have a small cupboard that has cubbies on the top. She keeps some toys in the bottom part, and I have my smaller pieces of wool nicely folded in the cubbies. Now that she can stand, she can reach the lowest cubby, and loves to pull the wool out, and we play with it! She'll hand it to me, and we talk about the colors in it, and the feel of it and so on. I wonder how many years I'll have to wait to teach her the art of rug hooking. I can't wait!
