  1. I have been busy in art school so that I can understand color theory and lay out better. I am working on a new project over the Christmas Holidays because I have 6 weeks off from school and need to get back to my hooking!

  4. My friend says that I am the HTB girl and she is the well, you know the other wool supplier. Due to our color choices. Mine tend to spark and announce themselves. Currently working on Joanne Gerwig Ramshead Floral with lots of HTB wools, old and new. Loving it. It is joyful and beautiful. Thanks for your creative and gorgeous wools.

  6. Please enter me in your drawing for wool. I did not know about the first two give-aways :(
I have been working on the same rug since March (though I have gotten a few small punch needle, cross stitch and hooked pieces done). I am just the world's slowest hooker even thought I am hooking in a 9.5.
    Pug hugs :)

  8. I'm currently working on a Christmas nativity rug, designed by a friend of mine. I doubt that I will have it finished in time to decorate with this Christmas, but there's just something soothing about working on it...it's helping me to keep things in perspective, and to help to prepare me mentally and spiritually for the Advent and Christmas seasons.

  15. Wow Betsy, how generous of you. Somehow I missed week 1 and 2 but then last week I was at a Woolley Fox class with friends. It was a wonderful time shared with the very talented Barb Carroll and friends.

And as Shari said, "I sure can use more wool"; never enough wool.

  29. There have been very few random thoughts submitted so I thought I would enter this one: "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain." Whether I win or not, I've had fun with this great contest.

  31. I went to a rug camp this past week in Independence, MO and there were many comments by the participants raving about "Heavens To Betsy" wool!!! I couldn't agree more. They (and I) love the feel of your wool if that makes sense :) Keep up the great work. So glad the cold hooking weather is upon us - Makes is even more fun (if that is possible). Have a great winter.

  32. Received my order today...such lovely wool...didn't realize how much I needed a wool fix!!! Love the cloth reuseable bag with your logo stamped on the front. It will be perfect to carry wool to classes and hook-ins. Thank you so much. Will be ordering more soon..gotta figure out how much I need of what.

Hope to make a wool quilt for Sam's b-day the day after Christmas. My favorite movie is
The African Queen...love anything with Hepburn.

Erica, try taking cording and sewing wool(wrong side out) around it. Trim it close. Turn it right side out. Sew loops into the seam of the coat, which was lovely by the way. Questions? Give me a call.

    Blessings, Linda Lindsey

  42. I started hooking in 2008. after doing a couple of purchased patterns, I decided to design my own rug. I created a pattern of my grandmothers home nestled in the woods. It is a big rug, about 3'X4'(That's big for me!), and I use it as a wall hanging. I submitted it to our state fair, and I won the Blue Ribbon! My grandma has been gone for many years, but from drawing the pattern to finishing the edging, it was a labor of love. I thought of her the whole time I worked on it. I'm so very proud of the rug, and grateful to her for all the love she gave me.

I am also hooking a peace sign pillow case for a Christmas gift. I have two knitting projects in on the needles and need to sneak in another charity knitting project soon. I didn't even mention the spinning... :)

  65. When I started hooking wool rugs I was always on the hunt to used wool I bought at garage sales, church shops and other second hand shop. Then I would bring home and throw in washer and then cut the clothing up and try and get the backing off, some will come off and some will not. So when I ordered new wool from Heavens to Betsy what a delite. Nice clean neat strips of wool. I'm in heaven with new wool. Sherry Bedwell
